Dr Jessica Jackson

Dr Jackson is an experienced Clinical Neuropsychologist with over 14 years of experience in the field of acquired brain injury and neurorehabilitation. She qualified as a Clinical Psychologist from University College London in 2011, and has undertaken specialist post-doctoral training in neuropsychology, and is on the Specialist Register of Clinical Neuropsychologists (SRCN). The SRCN, maintained by the British Psychological Society is considered the current gold standard for clinical neuropsychology in the UK. It serves as a quality mark, assuring the public and health care professionals that registrants have met rigorous training and competency standards in clinical neuropsychology.
Dr Jackson provides specialist neuropsychological assessment, formulation and therapeutic support for individuals presenting with a wide range of neurological conditions including traumatic brain injury, stroke, multiple sclerosis, motor neuron disease, dementia, Parkinson’s disease and epilepsy. Her experience spans working across the full rehabilitation pathway including working in acute care, outpatient diagnostics, and community neurorehabilitation.
Within her therapeutic work Dr Jackson adopts an integrative, evidence-based approach informed by a range of therapeutic modalities including; Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT). She also offers Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy as an approach to help individuals process and recover from past traumatic experiences.
She adopts a holistic, biopsychological framework to assist clients in adjusting to the physical, emotional, cognitive and behavioural consequences of brain injury. She is particularly skilled in providing family-sensitive interventions and supporting individuals and their family members navigate the unique psychological challenges often experienced following neurological injury or illness.
Dr Jackson particularly values working within multidisciplinary teams and is a strong advocate for interdisciplinary working. She has worked in the medico-legal field as a treating clinician since 2020 and has completed specialist training with the BPS Division of Neuropsychology and Bond Solon, including attending the Civil Law and Procedure and Excellence in Clinical Report Writing courses.
Appointments with Dr Jackson are available via home visits and online. She also has consulting rooms available in Hertford and Welwyn Garden City if preferred, on request.

Dr Claire Hanson

Dr Hanson is an experienced Clinical Neuropsychologist with over 15 years experience in the field of acquired brain injury and neurorehabilitation. She qualified as a Clinical Psychologist from the University of Oxford in 2007 and holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Neuropsychology from the University of Glasgow. Dr Hanson has held several clinical positions within the NHS and private healthcare sector. She has worked in the medico-legal field as a treating clinician since 2021 and has completed specialist medico-legal training with the BPS Division of Neuropsychology and Bond Solon.
Dr Hanson has experience of working with individuals at different stages throughout their rehabilitation journey, from acute medical settings to community services. She has expertise in providing specialist neuropsychological assessment, formulation, rehabilitation and therapeutic support for individuals with a range of neuropsychological diagnoses including traumatic brain injury, stroke, multiple sclerosis, spinal cord injury and epilepsy.
Dr Hanson is committed to supporting people to achieve their full potential and to live well with neurological conditions. She adopts an individualised, goal-focused approach to support people in optimising their confidence, independence and engagement in all aspects of life which are most meaningful to them. She recognises that in many cases, neurorehabilitation works best when there is a multidisciplinary approach and she particularly values working jointly and flexibly with other professionals to help individuals achieve their goals and full potential. She regularly works with case managers in the context of the medico-legal process but also accepts direct, self-funded referrals or those from neuropsychiatrists and neurologists.
